Venue overview
Johan Cruijff ArenA is Amsterdam's major stadium venue. Concert layouts can transform its entrances, floor access and accessible seating, making the promoter's event instructions more important than a generic stadium map.
Get there and back
Access and transport
Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station serves the stadium district by rail, metro and bus. Follow the entrance or colour information on your ticket rather than simply joining the first queue you see.
Large stadium audiences may be held or separated on the route back to the station. Keep the final rail connection conservative and consider staying in Zuidoost if an early onward journey would otherwise be at risk.
Road closures and parking procedures can be event-specific. If driving is unavoidable, reserve only through an official route and review the organiser's traffic plan.
Build in margin
When to arrive
For a stadium concert, reaching the district 90 minutes before the published start is a reasonable baseline. Use the actual door time and ticket instructions to refine it. Floor tickets, accessibility arrangements or a large international crowd justify more time.
Pack for the current rule
Bags, entry and venue rules
- The stadium currently states a maximum bag size of A4, approximately 30 × 21 × 10 cm. There are no general lockers inside for prohibited bags.
- An external Lockerpoint may operate nearby, but using it adds another queue and does not override the event policy.
- The stadium is cashless. Prohibited-item rules and reusable-cup arrangements can vary, so read the current event page before packing.

Accessibility planning
The ArenA publishes information on accessible seats, companion arrangements and adapted toilets. The event organiser normally controls the concert ticket allocation.
Sensory or audio-description services should be treated as event-specific unless the organiser confirms them for your date. Request support before purchase where possible.
Shape the evening
Where to stay and eat
The venue district is easy for a practical overnight stay, with hotels and food around ArenA Boulevard. Central Amsterdam offers a wider evening, but adds a crowded return. Choose based on the morning after the concert, not only the pre-show journey.
Quick notes
Practical notes
- Record the gate and section shown on the ticket before leaving the station.
- Travel without luggage; the stadium has no general bag storage inside.
- Wait briefly in the district after the encore if your last connection allows it.
