Palau Sant Jordi sits high on Montjuïc within Barcelona's Olympic Ring. The arena is close to the city geographically, but the uphill final leg and event traffic mean it should not be planned like a central metro venue.

Access and transport

Plaça Espanya is the usual interchange. The venue lists a roughly twenty-minute uphill walk using escalators and several bus options, with line 150 commonly recommended.

Extra buses or shuttles may be announced for individual concerts. These are event services, not permanent guarantees, so check the official event information shortly before leaving.

Private-vehicle access to Montjuïc can be restricted when venues host simultaneous events. Public transport or an official reserved arrangement is safer than arriving without a parking plan.

The official FAQ says doors commonly open 60 to 90 minutes before a show and publishes exact times close to the event. Aim to reach the Olympic Ring before that window begins, adding time for the climb, security or accessible drop-off.

  • The venue asks visitors to bring only basic personal items and follow event security notices. Do not treat a general container rule as permanent without checking the current FAQ.
  • Overnight queuing is not allowed. The venue recommends arriving in good time and checking its latest door announcement.
  • Weather matters even for an indoor show because queues and the return journey are exposed on Montjuïc.

Reduced-mobility tickets and assistance are arranged through official channels. Blue-badge parking spaces are on public roads and remain subject to availability and event access controls.

The hillside approach includes slopes. Confirm the accessible entrance or drop-off route in advance instead of relying on the standard pedestrian path from Plaça Espanya.

Poble-sec and the Plaça Espanya area are useful bases, with food and several onward lines before the climb. Do not schedule a close post-show connection: buses, taxis and walking routes absorb the whole arena audience. Choose a clearly lit group meeting point away from the main doors.
